Dental Tools

Our dental services include:

Regular dental exams

Regular dental checkups, including x-rays and teeth cleanings, are the foundation for maintaining healthy teeth and a beautiful smile. Regular exams ensure you are in good oral health. And getting your teeth cleaned twice a year gently removes hardened bacteria that adheres to the surfaces of your teeth, also preventing gum disease and tooth decay.

All porcelain crowns

Crowns or synthetic “caps” are placed over a tooth to restore their function and strength. Dr. Harris may recommend that your tooth undergoes a crown procedure for several reasons. When a tooth is weakened from a fracture, large “filling,” or root canal, a crown can help strengthen your tooth and prevent it from breaking in the future. Crowns can also be used for cosmetic reasons on front teeth.

Resin restorations

Restorations or dental fillings are used to return your tooth to its normal function after removing cavities. Dr. Harris offers tooth colored restorations to her patients for a variety of reasons. These fillings are safe, aesthetically pleasing, strong and bonded to the tooth where the cavity used to be.

Implants

Implants are “posts” used to replace missing teeth. The titanium post is placed and integrates into your jawbone to replace the missing root. Dr. Harris then places a lifelike crown on the implant to restore the function of the missing tooth.

Periodontal disease

This is an infection of the supporting structures that surround your teeth, including the jaw bone and gum tissue. If left unchecked, periodontal disease can lead to tooth loss. Periodontal disease has also been linked to heart disease.

Preventive general dentistry

Dr. Harris also offers the following dental services: sealants, whitening, root canal therapy, extractions and dentures.

Brittle bone disease

This genetic disease affects a small percentage of the population and can also include severe dental defects. This complicated disease causes fragile skeletons, and bones that break easily. Dr. Harris has been fortunate to have the opportunity to help with this research project to gain insight into brittle bone disease and possible dental treatment for these patients.
